Passenger Usage Regulations

When taking an escalator, passengers must hold the handrail firmly at all times, keep their body stable, and never lean against the side skirt boards of the escalator. Keep hands, feet, clothing hems, umbrellas, crutches and other items away from handrail gaps and equipment crevices to prevent entrapment accidents. Do not wear hollow-out sandals or flip-flops to avoid foot entrapment or slips and falls. No walking, running, reversing direction or frolicking on the escalator; never lean out beyond the handrail assembly and climbing on the handrail is strictly prohibited. When exiting the escalator, do not loiter or converse in the exit area and leave promptly to avoid colliding with passengers behind. In case of sudden escalator malfunctions or emergency shutdowns, hold the handrail firmly to prevent falls, press the emergency stop button and call for help immediately. If you fall accidentally, curl up into a ball as much as possible and protect your head to avoid secondary injuries.

Operator Operation Requirements

Assign dedicated staff with a Special Equipment Operation Certificate to be on duty, inspect the operating status of handrails at regular intervals, and record parameters such as operating noise (≤75 decibels) and vibration values. Overloading the escalator is strictly prohibited to avoid increasing handrail tension and accelerating its fatigue and aging. Protective measures shall be taken for outdoor escalators to prevent direct sunlight, and direct washing by rain and snow. Anti-ultraviolet coating can be applied on rubber handrails, and polyurethane (PU) handrails shall be preferred. Intentionally damaging handrails shall be stopped in a timely manner; if handrail damage or abnormal operation is found, shut down the escalator for treatment immediately and forced operation is strictly prohibited. Organize professional training for maintenance personnel on a regular basis, standardize maintenance operation procedures, and ensure that all maintenance work complies with industry standards and equipment technical requirements.
